If you're playing the Hogwarts Treasures dig in Monopoly GO, you'll spot the trick pretty fast: it's not a tapping race, it's resource management, and that's why I like keeping a little side note open from RSVSR while I play so I don't get reckless with my tools when the boards start getting nasty.
1) Stop spending pickaxes the moment you earn them
Loads of players do this. They grab two or three pickaxes, jump in, and suddenly they're stuck mid-board with nothing left. It feels "efficient" right up until it isn't. I've had better runs when I wait and build a proper stash first. Not because I'm trying to be fancy, but because you make calmer choices when you've got room to miss. And you will miss. Later stages love wasting your hits on empty dirt if you're clicking in a panic.
2) Get your tools from the right places
Not every pickaxe source is worth the dice. The best value usually comes from banner events and tournaments, where the milestone payouts actually stack up. That's where you plan your rolling. The smaller freebies are still nice, sure: Quick Wins, shop gifts, whatever your daily rotation coughs up. But think of those as top-ups, not your main supply. If you rely on crumbs, you'll end up rage-rolling at awful multipliers just to chase one more pickaxe reward.
3) Dig like you're playing Battleship, not whack-a-mole
When you finally start digging, don't spray clicks everywhere. Start in a tight pattern. Probe, then expand. If you hit something, work around it with purpose instead of clearing lonely tiles that don't connect to anything. Also, once you've uncovered the treasure for that stage, stop and move on. Clearing the whole board can feel satisfying, but it quietly burns your run. Those extra hits add up fast, and the later puzzles are where events are won or lost.
4) Treat the event like a long haul
You're going to have moments where the smart move is to pause, refill, then come back. That's normal. If you're aiming for the big rewards at the end, you're typically looking at roughly 300–350 pickaxes across the full set of stages, depending on luck and how clean your patterns are. So yeah, every wasted swing matters. And if you're also trying to tidy up your album while you grind, it helps to keep your options open—some players even look at Monopoly Go Stickers for sale when they're one card away from finishing a set and want the dice to keep the run alive.
